Sign off

In 'Travelling to School: A Good Practice Guide", the Government states that in future they will want all School Travel Plans to be 'signed-off' before they can be recorded in the local transport plan (LTP) annual progress report as a "school travel plan ready for implementation".

Sign-off will be required from:

• The chair of the board of governors
  
• The local education authority (LEA) (Assistant Director)
  
• The local transport authority (Assistant Director); and
  
• Any other party who will play a key role in in the implementation of the plan e.g local bus operator, the police
